21. MTB XCO World Cup victory for Julien Absalon (FRA)

Julien Absalon (FRA) again victorious in Offenburg, Germany.
He secures himself the 21. mountainbike world cup victory of his career ahead of Swiss Nino Schurter and Jaroslav Kulhavy from Czech Republic.

Absalon and Schurter lead moreless the whole race until Absalon took the lead. 

Martin Gujan started from position 71 and could make up almost 50 ranks to finish on satisfying 25th. He rode a very solid race after his injury and insecurities in Houffalize, where he could not finish. From race to race he is getting in better form and toward mid season it looks very promising.

His comment to the race: "I had a pretty good start and could make up a couple of positions. In mid race I struggled a little with my rythmn, but I tried to stay in the field. It was a really hard race. YOu had to concentrate very hard and could not allow yourself a mistake." 

Thousands of excited spector whitnessed very skillful, technical riding. After Esther Süss´ third rank at the womens race this morning the swiss mountainbike team landed with Nino Schurter (second), Christoph Sauser (fourth), Florian Vogel (fitth) and Mathias Flückiger (sixth) rank a very satisfying result.
