When I checked the start list I knew that a top10 would be a high aimed goal but I wouldn’t let that stop me trying! I had a good start and because of this I didn’t have to wait in the narrow sections. The first lap was already really fast and I was at the limit. In the second lap a big group was catching and passed me. I didn’t even try to follow them because I would have to go over the limit. If you go too much over your limit on this course then it’s hard to recover and you will pay for it at the end of the race. In addition there were hot temperatures that made it even harder.

So I kept on going with my rhythm but I tried also to follow other racers. Now and then a contender was coming back because he over-paced a bit in the early laps.

In the last lap I had a broken seatpost but it didn’t affect my position, I just couldn’t fight anymore for the 13th place. Therefore I was finishing on the 14th place. It was a hard fight but a good race.

Right now I’m at high altitude training in the Engadin to prepare for the next races.
